      What is the Password Policy at SIERA.AI

      Siera.ai now offers Password Policy system where clients can create a custom Password Policy that suits their organization’s requirements.

      Password Policy is present under Settings > General Settings > Account Settings > Password Policy



        • Password minimum length: (default: 8 characters, range: 8-128 characters)

        • Lowercase Character: at least 1 lowercase character (default: ON)

        • Uppercase Character: at least 1 uppercase character (default: ON)

        • Number: at least one number (default: ON)

        • Special Character: at least one special character (default: ON)

          • Only these characters are allowed !@#$%^&*()-_=+[]|`
        • Password Expiration: user’s password will expire after a defined duration
            • It will be OFF by default
        • When ON: default is 365 days, range: 1 - 1825 days


        • Change Password on 1st Login: When the new users must create a new password after 1st login
          • It will be OFF by default
          • When a new user is created, an auto-generated password will be generated.
          • The password will be valid for 7 days, after which it will expire.
          • The user must then request again for a new password.

        • Change Other’s Passwords: It will be ON by default
          • This pertains to the ability of an admin to change the passwords of their subordinate users.
          • Account Owners and Super Admins will ALWAYS have the ability to change other’s passwords, irrespective of the password policy state.
        • Password Reuse: the number of previously used passwords that cannot be used while setting a new password
            • It will be OFF by default
        • When ON: default is 3; range: 1 - 10


        • Password Lockout (Website): The website will block the user after ‘defined’ number of incorrect attempts.
            • Applicable at the Dashboard Login page.
            • The user will get locked out for 10 minutes.
            • It will be OFF by default
        • When ON: default is 5; range: 3 - 10


        • Password Lockout (Application): The Scout application will block the user after ‘defined’ number of incorrect attempts
            • Applicable at the Account authorization screen (device setup), Accessing Admin menu, Unlocking a vehicle using email/password credentials.
            • The user will get locked out for 10 minutes.
            • It will be OFF by default
        • When ON: default is 5; range: 5 - 10
